William Blackburn, 10, from Rackenford Primary School, has won a trip to Paignton Zoo for his whole family. William won the ticket after his success in the Tiverton Gorilla Trail competition run for local children as part of the celebrations for the arrival of Beverley, the town's gorilla.
William had to spot 30 gorilla pictures hidden in the windows of businesses around the town.

Beverley, a colourful fibre-glass statue of a gorilla, arrived in Tiverton in August to take up her permanent residence on Phoenix Lane. The occasion was marked with a public unveiling, with recorded gorilla sounds and tropical foliage all adding to the atmosphere.

The artwork was purchased by the Tiverton Portas Company for £3,800 at a charity auction. The money will go to support gorilla conversation work. The Portas Company hope that Beverley will attract visitors back into the town centre. The unveiling was well attended by locals hoping to get their photograph taken with the town's newest resident.

The Gorilla Trail was run on the day for local youngsters by the Portas Company. There is still another family ticket to Paignton Zoo up for grabs with the trail running until September 30th. If you find all 30 of the hidden gorillas you will be entered into a a draw, with the winner being announced shortly after the closing date.
Entry forms are available from Busy Bee Newsagent on Fore Street.
