Devon Tourism Awards 2013

Tiverton is on the map! Two of Tiverton's businesses have been chosen for the finals of the Devon Tourism Awards 2013.

West Pitt Farm: It is the first time we have entered this Award and are thrilled to be a finalist. Our cottages are in a super location with lots to do onsite with a swimming pool, games room, grass tennis court, children's pay area, a countryside path and fishing too; together with local attractions such a the Grand Western Canal for walking and cycling, Tiverton Museum and Knightshayes Court. We offer something for all the family and dogs are welcome too. Our eco lodge with excellent disabled access has been awarded 5 Star by Quality in Tourism and we have a high number of repeat guests who are delighted to see that we continually make improvements to our cottages and facilities to ensure they have a great time in our lovely location in Devon.

The following appeared in the Tiverton Gazette recently:

Tiverton Museum is delighted to be the only museum to become a finalist in the Small Visitor Attraction category at the Devon Tourism Awards. Reaching this stage means that the museum will win either Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended awards. Andrea Rowe Chairman of Trustees commented ‘Tiverton Museum has shown that it consistently provides an excellent experience for tourists who are always delighted at its value for money, with children going free and adults finding plenty to amuse them.’ The museum was awarded the Bronze Award for Visitor Attraction at last year’s awards, which was the first year that the museum had entered them. Pippa Griffith, Museum Director said ‘We are thrilled that we are among the finalists for the second year in a row. We are always trying to improve the service that we our visitors and these awards show that this is possible on a small budget.’

The Award Ceremony is on 13th November at the Grand Hotel in Torquay and is hosted by Judi Spiers. The following is a link to Devon Tourism Awards Press release details etc.
